Product Description:

I am looking for a 24x7 cyber security monitoring provider as well as cyber incident response support.

It would be helpful if the provider can utilise our existing investment in our current security monitoring tools, but there is an opportunity to onboard a more complete SIEM solution to upgrade our existing one.

I envisage that the incident response support component might be arranged on a retainer basis, with payment per incident. However, that is subject to whichever arrangement offers the most affordable solution.

SOLUTION OVERVIEW

blueAPACHE Solution Summary for Age Care:

Thank you for considering blueAPACHE as your cybersecurity partner. Our goal is to deliver complete protection with zero operational burden for your team.

Key Notes

  • We don’t yet know your current monitoring or SIEM tools, so this proposal assumes a fresh deployment.

  • All solutions include vendor technology + SOC-as-a-Service

  • All MDR has gaps, blueAPACHE can provide tailored isolation and remediation so no additional technical investment required from your side.

  • Pricing is annual (monthly options available), ex GST:

3 Vendor Solutions:

  • Rapid7 – Managed Threat Complete (Advanced) - $320,000

  • CrowdStrike Complete - CrowdStrike Complete (EDR/Identity/NG SIEM) - $308,000

  • Huntress MDR - (EDR/ITDR/SIEM) - $204,000

While Huntress is the most cost-effective, Rapid7 MTC Advanced is the ideal fit for large Age Care environments. For reference, Catholic Healthcare which is a similar-sized organization are a very satisfied Rapid7 client you can talk to. This solution would require a retainer base for DFIR.

Rapid7 Managed Threat Complete (Advanced):

A fully integrated Managed Detection & Response (MDR) service that combines technology, threat intelligence, and expert SOC services to deliver continuous protection and strategic security maturity.

Why Rapid7 MTC Advanced?

  • 24x7x365 SOC Monitoring & Threat Hunting (Proactive detection of advanced threats and zero-day exploits)

  • Unlimited Incident Response & Digital Forensics (Includes Velociraptor DFIR for deep investigations at no extra cost.)

  • Exposure Management & Vulnerability Scanning (Unlimited scanning with prioritized remediation guidance

  • Full XDR Coverage (Endpoints, network, users, and cloud, powered by InsightIDR SIEM, InsightVM, and InsightConnect SOAR.)

  • Unlimited Data Ingestion & 13-Month Retention (Complete historical visibility for compliance and investigations.)

  • Australian Data Sovereignty (Critical for Age Care compliance and privacy requirements.)

  • Dedicated Senior Cybersecurity Advisor (Monthly threat briefings, posture reviews, and executive reports.)

  • Strategic Advisory Services (IR Planning Workshop, Security Posture Assessment, and Executive Readouts.)

Benefits for Age Care:

  • Protect Sensitive Health Data (Meets strict privacy and compliance requirements.)

  • Scales Seamlessly (Advanced tier starts at 500 assets and scales for 10000+ endpoints )

  • Reduce Operational Burden (Offload detection, response, and vulnerability management to Rapid7 experts.)

  • Legally Binding, Financially Backed SLAs

Rapid7 delivers contractually enforceable Service Level Agreements that are financially backed, ensuring accountability and guaranteed performance for critical MDR services. These SLAs cover:

  • Response Times: Rapid escalation and containment within agreed timeframes.

  • Availability: 24×7×365 SOC coverage with guaranteed uptime.

  • Incident Handling: Defined timelines for investigation, remediation, and reporting.

This commitment provides risk assurance and demonstrates Rapid7’s confidence in delivering consistent, high-quality security outcomes.

Why blueAPACHE?

We don’t just resell vendor tools: we are a Security Partner and mid-market service provider of choice in the age care and non-for-profit sectors. we integrate these solutions into your environment with Security Engineers and Project managers with the outcome of complete isolation and remediation end to end.

Our SOC works alongside the chosen security vendor to ensure zero gaps in coverage. You gain a strategic partner, not just a vendor.

QUALIFYING QUESTIONS

Q1.

Can you ingest and correlate data from CrowdStrike, Mimecast, Netskope, and Graylog?

Yes.

Rapid7 InsightIDR (the SIEM underpinning MTC Advanced) can ingest and correlate data from CrowdStrike, Mimecast, and Netskope via native event sources, and it can ingest Graylog output via syslog/CEF (Graylog forwards to a Rapid7 Collector)

Q2.

Can you enrich alerts with threat intelligence or contextual data from these platforms?

Yes.

Rapid7 InsightIDR (which powers MTC Advanced) can enrich alerts with threat intelligence and contextual data, and it can also leverage telemetry from integrated platforms like CrowdStrike, Mimecast, Netskope, and Graylog.

Here’s how:

Threat Intelligence Enrichment

Rapid7 Threat Intelligence Feed:

InsightIDR automatically applies Rapid7’s curated threat intelligence to alerts, including indicators of compromise (IOCs), attacker TTPs, and behavioural analytics.

Third-Party Intelligence:

You can ingest external threat feeds (STIX/TAXII, custom lists) and apply them to detection rules for enrichment.

Contextual Data from Integrated Platforms:

CrowdStrike:

Endpoint telemetry (process, hash, user context) and Falcon detections are correlated with InsightIDR’s user and asset data. This adds device-level context to alerts.

Mimecast:

Email security events (URL clicks, attachment scans, impersonation attempts) enrich user activity timelines and phishing investigations.

Netskope:

Cloud app usage and web proxy logs provide context for risky SaaS behaviour and data exfiltration alerts.

Graylog:

Any log forwarded via syslog/CEF can be normalized and attributed to users/assets, adding depth to investigations.

Q3.

How do you prioritise alerts and reduce false positives?

Rapid7 InsightIDR (and the MTC Advanced service built on it) uses a combination of analytics, automation, and human expertise to prioritize alerts and minimize false positives.

Here is how:

Behavioral Analytics & Attacker Methodology:

Alerts are based on MITRE ATT&CK-aligned detection rules and behavioral patterns rather than simple signatures.

This reduces noise from benign activity and focuses on tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) that indicate real compromise.

User & Asset Attribution:

InsightIDR correlates logs from multiple sources (endpoint, network, email, cloud) and ties them to specific users and assets.

This context helps distinguish legitimate activity from suspicious behaviour, reducing false positives.

Threat Intelligence Enrichment:

Rapid7 applies curated threat intelligence to alerts, scoring indicators based on global prevalence and known malicious associations.

High-confidence IOCs and patterns are prioritized, while low-confidence signals are suppressed or flagged for review.

Alert Scoring & Prioritization:

Alerts are ranked by severity, confidence, and impact:

Critical: Active attacker behaviour or confirmed compromise.

High: Strong indicators of malicious activity.

Medium/Low: Requires additional context or investigation.

SOC analysts review and validate high-severity alerts before escalation.

Machine Learning & Baseline Modelling:

InsightIDR builds baselines for normal user and asset behaviour.

Deviations (e.g., unusual logins, privilege escalation) trigger alerts only when statistically significant, reducing false positives.

SOC Analyst Triage:

In MTC Advanced, Rapid7’s 24x7 SOC team manually validates alerts before notifying you.

They combine automated scoring with human judgment, ensuring only actionable incidents reach your team.

Custom Detection Tuning:

You can adjust detection rules, whitelist known safe behaviours, and create custom alerts tailored to your environment.

Rapid7 & blueAPACHE advisors help fine-tune these rules during onboarding and posture reviews.

Q4.

Do you offer services to enhance or replace Graylog with a more scalable SIEM?

The Rapid7 Service we offer would replace the Greylog SIEM as the Rapid7 solution is underpinned by the IDR SIEM. blueAPACHE cannot provide SOC services on a Greylog based SIEM but can assist in an uplift to a highly supported Enterprise Grade SIEM.

If you wish to keep Greylog, we will have the solutions coexist as follows:

1. Forward from Graylog → Rapid7 Collector using syslog/CEF on dedicated ports. InsightIDR then normalizes, attributes (user/asset), and correlates across endpoint, network, email, and cloud sources.

2. Benefit: keep current Graylog dashboards while gaining Rapid7 MDR SOC, behavioural detections, and 13‑month searchable retention in InsightIDR.

Typical adds core attribution sources (AD/LDAP, DHCP/DNS/VPN/Firewall) to improve correlation efficacy inside InsightIDR.

Q5.

Do you offer retainer-based IR services or on-demand support?

The Rapid7 Solution we offer included unlimited Incident response and Deep Forensic Incident response supported by the Velociraptor tool set.

Our other MDR solutions being CrowdStrike Complete and Huntress MDR include incident response but not Deep Forensic Incident response and a 40 hour at a time retainer can be purchased for this service along with Dark web breach reports.

If unsure the difference between standard incident response and deep forensic incident response we're happy to provide guidance and support.
