TechSearch
Better IT solutions with less stress
Discover IT suppliers you wouldn't otherwise find
Compare solutions, capabilities and indicative pricing from multiple IT vendors through one simple search. Submit your requirements and qualifying questions, and let vendors come to you with proposals tailored to your needs.
Free for IT Buyers
Unlike traditional procurement, where buyers have to approach suppliers individually, TechSearch uses a reverse marketing process. You publish your requirements once, and interested suppliers respond directly to your brief.
How TechSearch Works
(1) Submit your requirements
Describe the IT solution you need and add qualifying questions to help vendors understand your requirements.
(2) Vendors respond
StrategyMix identifies relevant suppliers and invites them to respond to your search.
(3) Compare responses
Review vendor capabilities, proposed solutions and indicative pricing.
(4) Choose who you want to engage with
Accept the responses you're interested in. StrategyMix then introduces you to the selected vendors.
Remain Anonymous
When submitting a search, you have the option to remain anonymous, until you have chosen to reveal your identity to a vendor you have approved. In this way, you avoid being inundated with sales calls.
How TechSearch Benefits IT Buyers
From a buyers’ perspective, the TechSearch reverse marketing process, provides several very tangible benefits.
- Discover new suppliers: Expand your search beyond vendors you already know.
- Compare alternatives: Evaluate different approaches to the same requirements.
- Understand pricing: Compare indicative pricing before committing to a supplier.
- Save time: Submit one brief rather than individually approaching multiple vendors.
See how an Australian aged care organisation received eight MDR proposals, uncovered a significant pricing difference and selected a supplier they hadn't previously considered.

FAQ
Is TechSearch Free?
TechSearch is free to buyers. Vendors are charged a fee if they respond to a search.
A response fee is only charged for each response that a vendor elects to make, so, it's a pay-as-you-go business model rather than subscription based. The fees vary between A$299 and A$699 ex GST depending on the value of the sale.
What is the process after a vendor submits a response?
When a vendor submits a response, the buyer will get an email alert, so they know to review the response. The buyer then has two choices: to either accept the response or reject it. If they accept the response, we do an email intro between the buyer and the vendor. The email intro includes the contact details of both parties. If the buyer rejects the response, we ask them to provide constructive feedback, but this is optional.
How does TechSearch help buyers find IT solution providers?
StrategyMix has an extensive database of Australian IT vendors, resellers and consultants, which has been developed and refined over many years. We primarily use this database to identify the vendors. We then use our established marketing processes to reach out to the vendors, offering them an opportunity to respond to your buyer search.
How many vendors can respond to a TechSearch requirement?
There is no formal limit to the number of vendors that can respond to a TechSearch, but in practical terms most buyers will close their search after 3 to 5 responses. Vendors cannot respond to a closed search.
Does TechSearch allow buyers to compare indicative vendor pricing?
Yes, TechSearch allows buyers to compare indicative pricing, but it should be noted that the pricing is just “indicative”.
Am I obligated to purchase from a vendor who responds?
No, as a buyer you are not obliged to purchase from a vendor who responds to a search, but you are obliged to accept or reject every vendor, so that each vendor knows where they stand. You can close a search at any time.
